The story — since 1980
A landmark of the Mediterranean, for over forty years.
In the heart of the port of Catania, beside the Harbour Master’s Office, stands the Club Nautico Catania — for over forty years a point of reference for recreational boating in the Mediterranean.
Founded in 1980 by a man who could read the sea before any instrument.
The Club Nautico Catania was born from the vision and passion of a man who knew the sea profoundly, in every nuance: the winds, the currents, marine mechanics and the dynamics of navigation. A sailor of another era, gifted with a rare seafaring intuition, able to read the sea and interpret its signals with the experience of a lifetime spent among quays, boats and open water.
Thanks to his determination and his deep knowledge of the sea, what began as a simple intuition grew into one of the historic concessions of the port of Catania — today among the longest-standing in the Etnean harbour.
In the years that followed, the activity was carried forward together with his best friend and partner, who over the last twenty years has continued to invest in the growth and improvement of the marina, making it ever more efficient, welcoming and well regarded. Work carried out with passion, seriousness and dedication, which has allowed the Club Nautico Catania to become a berth known and loved by sailors from every part of the world.
